Chemistry-Biochemistry Major

Complete all institutional graduation requirements.
Chemistry-Biochemistry requires a minimum of 103-111 credits to complete the major. A grade of “C-” or better is required for each course counting towards the major and a cumulative GPA of 2.00 is required for completion of the major. S/U courses may not be elected for program requirements. A minimum of 20 chemistry credit hours must be completed at EOU. [On-campus only program]
MATH 111 and MATH 112 are pre-requisites for this program
Students choose to pursue a chemistry or biochemistry pathway by completing coursework in chemistry, together with additional coursework in math, physics and/or biology.

Math & Physics Required Courses: 20 credit
Chemistry Pathway Required Courses: 35-36 credits
Biochemistry Pathway Required Courses: 40-43 credits
Total Credits for Chemistry Pathway: 103-104

NOTE: Students not meeting admission requirements to CHEM 204 or CHEM 205 should enroll in CHEM 101 andCHEM 102 .
Students may need to enroll in lower level math sequence as determined by an EOU evaluation.
CHEM 412 and CHEM 437 are on an alternate year rotation
Pre-Health Professions
These courses are NOT required for the Chemistry-Biochemistry Degree but should be taken to prepare students on their pre-pharmacy, pre-dental, pre-veterinary, or pre-medical tracks for their entrance requirements.
