Master of Science in Education - Environmental Education Concentration is a 36-graded credit hour degree.

A minimum grade of “C” is required in all courses counting toward the degree and a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00 is required to complete the degree.

All courses need to be taken within 10 years of degree completion

Upon approval of the program coordinator, a maximum of 12 credits may be transferred from another institution into the Master of Science program and counted toward either the concentration or electives.

Admission into the MS in Education program is required for this concentration.

ED 521 - Literature Review I Credits: 3
ED 522 - Literature Review II Credits: 3
ED 523 - Research Project Credits: 5

Environmental Education Concentration Courses: 15 credits

EVED 501 - Foundations of Environmental Education Credits: 3
EVED 502 - Environmental Education Teaching and Learning Credits: 3
EVED 503 - Environmental Education Program Development and Evaluation Credits: 3
EVED 504 - Inclusive Practices in Environmental Education Credits: 3
EVED 505 - Participatory Sciences in Environmental Education Credits: 3

Electives: 6 credits

Any additional EVED graduate level courses that are not part of the concentration can count towards elective credits.

Students select coursework from other concentrations to fulfill elective credits. Prerequisites apply for some courses.

Other graduate level education coursework may be approved by the program coordinator. Initial Teacher Preparation and CTE coursework will not be approved for the MS in Education program.

Completing two concentrations automatically fulfills the electives requirement.
