CMHC 630 - Professional Issues & Advanced Ethics


Credits: 4.5

This course will help students explore the relationship between the law, the framework of ethics, and clinical mental health counseling. Legal duties and the rights of clients and providers will be discussed. The course will also provide a forum for the exploration and processing of ethical dilemmas encountered by managers and clinicians in clinical mental health counseling. An advanced look is taken of individual state legal requirements as well as case law impacting counseling ethics. Student must be accepted into the CMHC program to register.
